Cyprus includes legends, golf (see

Many of Cyprus's beaches are so beautiful (see

views). Limassol, its
Municipal Gardens, and some history at Amathus, an ancient city kingdom is
the ideal base (see
Cyprus History). The
Greco-Roman Theater has concerts and plays and a view of
the Mediterranean. Water sports and activities include swimming,
snorkeling, diving, and water skiing.

Limassol is a beach town
that also has festivals such as Carnival,
a pre-Lenten festival, and September’s Wine Festival.The ten miles of coastline in
Limassol is known as the Cypriot Riviera. Kolossi Castle, museums,
shops, a theatre, cathedral, churches and much besides make this the ideal
base for exploring Cyprus. Furthermore, it's located centrally on the
south coast, allowing you to explore in all directions.
Pafos is where you will find Petra Tou Romiou (Aphrodite’s Rock) - where the Greek
goddess Aphrodite rose from the water.
The Troodos region has dense cedar and pine forests (see
Mountain
Views). The most famous
mountain resorts are Troodos and Platres. These also have hiking trails
and snow in the winter.
Nicosia is the capital city of Cyprus. It has narrow streets and is
ideal for a shopping spree if you fancy a change from Limassol.
Larnaka is a port town, but not as impressive as Limassol. The most
significant feature here is the church in which Lazarus is buried.
